BIO

Ashlee Daniels Taylor is currently pursuing her MFA in dance at The Ohio State University. She received her BFA in dance from Columbia College in South Carolina. While in school she participated in many Guest Artist Residencies and festivals. She was selected to present her work at ACDA, SCDA, and SCAPHERD. Ashlee has performed work of renowned artists’ such as Dan Wagoner, Lisa Wheeler, danah bella, Tania Isaac, Daniel Roberts, and Bebe Miller. Since 2010, she has worked collaboratively and performed with Vibrations Dance Company, The Power Company Collaborative, TO Dance Inc., and Sapphire Moon DC. In addition to performing professionally throughout South Carolina, she has also traveled to California to perform work by award winning artist Terrance Henderson in the Fresno ROGUE performing arts festival. Before returning to school Ashlee served as the Co-Associate Director of the Power Company Collaborative, and as a Teaching Associate for TO Dance Inc. As a teaching associate and through her work with Power Tools Ashlee has been able to teach and choreograph for residencies in the Columbia area schools. She is interested in choreographic research that explores notions of experience and collaborative process with rigorous, athletic movement. Through her residency work and choreographic research, Ashlee strives to keep an open dialogue of how the arts and especially dance not only reflects, but also revives the human experience.
